In my adulthood and as a father, I've struggled to think about the proper education for my young son. I would prefer an environment that engages him and inspires him, versus the institutional framework that currently exists. There is always a place for sitting still, raising ones hand, and maybe the occasional test. All too often though, this rigid framework is used as the measure for success, and not unfortunately, if children and students are enjoying their learning experience. I am not arguing for some misguided and narrow "happiness" framework, but instead for a broader review of how children and students are beginning to approach learning, each other, and their environment. This tweet I came across, summarizes a good direction I think we can all follow... the right side of the table is really how I want to approach most of life...
